Insat 3A and 4B are located at 93.5E and Nss 6 is located at 95E. These were the early once to start Ku band transmissions in India. Dish tv is primarily using Nss6 for its DTH transmissions ever since it started its dth operation. It also uses Asiasat 5 located at 100E for the past few months for its HD channels.
DD+ is using Insat 4B at 93.5E for its DTH. It is the only free DTH in India. Sun Direct which is another DTH service was also on Insat 4B before power problem occurred due to which satellite lost its half the transponders. This forced Sun direct to move from Insat 4B but they again came back on a single transponder for their HD service.
Dish tv is using DD+ channels along with their paid channels so dishes are aligned to make them receive both the locations ie. 93.5E & 95E. Due to this SNR might not be as strong as we would like but still enough to receive all the frequencies in light to moderate rains.
