Sun TV Network Ltd made an agreement with Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Ltd., owned by the Government of Tamil Nadu in the business of providing signals to Cable Operators within Tamil Nadu.
This agreement will make total availability of the Sun Network channels on all cable TV distribution systems run by Arasu Cable with immediate effect. Sun TV once enjoyed a dominant market share in terms of viewership ratings when SCV was ruling the state. SCV is owned by Marans who owns Sun Network. Ever since the arrival of Arasu Cable, Sun network channels were not available on it and Sun network started loosing its market share.
