Introduction

I live in Chennai, TN, India. I am interested in dxing in satellite reception but restricted to broadcast receptions.

I started with Cband reception as Ku band was unknown during those times in India. Was having 8 feet mesh dish and using it to catch satellites with Indian foot print was not hard. That time analogue transmission was used and DVBS was rare.

First dxing was on analogue RTR channel from Express satellite at 80E. Picture was not very good but not too bad. Russians used SECAM format for television and in India we were using PAL. There was only minor difference between both the formats as a result we are able to get picture but in Black & White.
